Anybody have any experience buying Iraqi Dinar as an investment?

First off I'm hesitant to call the Iraqi Dinar an investment, I personally would call it high risk speculation. I look at it  like a longshot lottery ticket than an investment.

As to your question though I own the Iraqi Dinar as well as the Vietnam Dong. I purchased my Dinar way back in 2004 and the Vietnam Dong more recently.

Some people think that the dinar they bought for say $1000 is going to revalue or rv as they call it and be worth anywhere from 3 million dollars to 12 million dollars overnight. I personally don't believe this is possible, the numbers don't back it up, there's never been another revalue in history anyone can point to, and lastly the old rule if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

That said if Iraq can stabalize economically, financially, and politically and get that oil industry going it's possiblle the currerncy will go up in value and people can make money.

If your considering buying the dinar you have a few options. There's few if any banks or brick and mortar currency exchanges that deal in the Iraqi Dinar so for buying you can buy from online dealers, ebay or from other members of forums like Dinar Vets selling off their personal stash.

Where will I be able to cashin my Iraqi Dinar?

I invested in Iraqi dinar, if it does ever go up in value how and what are they steps to cash in and exchange??? I live in north Carolina.

Well first off until the Iraqi Dinar is a pegged or recognized currency most likely banks and currency exchanges won't be buying it. If it does become a tradable currency then most likely more and more banks, currency exchanges and brick and mortar locations will start buying.

Currently your options for selling are an online dealer, ebay or selling to another member of an iraqi dinar forum.

What’s the best place to buy Iraqi Dinar?

I’ve heard about Iraqi Dinars and am interested in purchasing them. Can someone please tell me more about them and where the best place to buy Iraqi dinars is?

Your most likely going to get the best deal either buying on ebay or buying from a member of a forum like Dinar Vets who's looking to sell some of their personal stash. Buying this way you can probably buy a million dinar fro between say $800 and $1000. If you buy from a dealer your going to pay a bit of a higher price I'd say $950-$1050.

Ebay protects both the buyer and seller so it's a pretty safe place to buy. Some great deals can be found on forums but because you don't have ebay's buyer protection program your taking some risk.

If you want to buy from a dealer if you find them more trustworthy or would like to use a credit card or for some other reason three dealers I would recommend would be dealorbuydinar.com, buyiraqidinarhere.com, and dinarcorp.com.

If the iraqi dinar values higher than present value will I be able to get my money back?

Well it depends, currently there are really no brick and mortar stores, banks, or currency exchanges buying back so at the present time you can really only sell either on ebay, on Dinar forums or back to a dealer.

Some dealers will only buy from people who bought from them and pretty much all dealer buy at prices most likely well below what you bought at. If the Iraqi Dinar were to become a tradeable currency it would be dealt with by many more banks and currency exchanges.

If you need to get rid of the Dinar now you can always sell either on ebay or to a dealer.

Are there any US banks that will trade the Iraqi Dinar at this time?

A few years back many large national banks dealt in the Iraqi Dinar such as Chase, Fifth Third, Wells Fargo as well as others. It's tough these days to find banks that deal in the Iraqi Dinar. I personally don't know of any large nationwide banks that do and even smaller banks, local banks and currency exchanges often do not. Seems it's very tough to find a brick and mortar location that buys or sells the Iraqi Dinar. There are a lot of online dealers and ebay sellers though. Best of luck to you.

How can I get my hands on some Physical Iraqi Dinar in Australia?

There are a ton of Iraqi Dinar dealers in the US, many only ship to the US or maybe US and Canada. It can't hurt to shoot them an email or give them a call and inquire though. Ebay is another option hwoever I know many ebay sellers in the US have their accounts setup so foreign people can't buy as it's often hard to estimate shipping and buyers often hold sellers responsible for their own countries customs holding up packages.

I think you'll have the most luck on ebay however if you want to check with a few dealers a few I'd recommend would be DealOrBuyDinar.Com, BuyIraqiDinarHere.Com, DinarCorp.Com
